A New Kind of Winter

It is my last couple of days here in China. I have loved every bit of it! I was able to catch up with some old friends from India and make some new ones. Coaching the Train the Trainers (TTT) was a blast and going to the schools and overseeing how they implemented the program while running a practice with the kids was indescribable. Amid this great opportunity, God opened a door. A door that I have been trying to kick in for many years. Have you ever been pulling on a door trying to open it and it won’t open, so you keep pulling hard as you can, jerking it to see if it will open, maybe even getting worried or angry that the door just won’t open. Then right before you are about to go get some dynamite to blow the door open, someone comes up behind you, nonchalantly, scans their key card, pushes the door open and walks through it. Yea, that was me... the one going to get the explosives lol. I used to be so focused on getting that door open until I learned to stop and be patient for God to come with the key and open it for me. Once I stepped back and started living my life focused on being used by God, wherever and whenever He wanted me, everything became so much more simple. And guess what? In His timing, He opened it… Geeezzzz, why couldn’t I stop pulling earlier, it would have been way less exhausting and a whole lot easier. I could have used my time a lot more wisely, especially knowing that the door was going to open regardless.

Recently, I was offered a basketball operations internship with the Milwaukee Bucks. I am officially going to be living in Wisconsin. In being extremely excited to start my new adventure, I am a bit nervous…..of the cold weather lol. I am ready to go to work… in a snowsuit! Has anyone seen the movie, ‘A Christmas Story’ when the little brother puts on the snowsuit and can’t put his arms down…. That’s going to be me. Yikes, get your cameras ready lol. I am ready to work hard, serve people, gain new friends, build new memories and learn the life of wearing layers.
