Tonight is my last night in Mumbai and I am going to miss it here. I will move to Greater Noida for the next 10 days to be at the National Championship. With all the scouting from these last 4 months, we are going to see our final product. We will be able to see the selected players and coaches once again at the place where it is held in the NBA Academy. For many of the players, this will be an experience of a lifetime. I am so happy for each and every person that is going to be in attendance.
I have been able to do a lot in these last couple of weeks. When I was in my last tryout city, I was able to visit the Victoria Memorial and attend my first cricket game. The Memorial was extremely beautiful and had much history intertwined in each structure, garden, statute, picture and piece at the museum. The cricket game was so much fun. I barely know how to play the sport, but I really enjoy watching anything competitive and all types of athletes. Knowing how much work goes into professional sports and how difficult it is to maintain your place on the team, is a work ethic and focus that I love to watch in the contenders. Each person is different in their competitiveness and athleticism and I enjoy seeing the mentality and physical aspect of each while the spotlight is on. The match was just like any other stadium during a big game; the fans were screaming, dancers were dancing and the announcer was hype. I was able to sit in a suite and the people that attended were entertaining and we all had great conversation. We were all mostly from different parts of the world, so getting to know each was intriguing. With a day off, I decided to go see a mall with a couple of friends that I have made from church. When I travel locally I love taking rickshaws. They are like 3 wheeled scooters with a roof. My favorite reason for riding in them is because of how they drive... dangerously lol. Here the traffic laws are just mere suggestions. The rickshaws go in and out of all the small crevices to get ahead of the cars in traffic, therefore they are a bit faster. So on my way to the mall, we hit a traffic jam, but that wasn't a big deal for us because we jumped up on the sidewalk and kept it moving lol. Here I have seen motorcycles on the sidewalks, but never a Rickshaw. I am proud to be apart of that first haha. Once we got to the mall we had lunch and I was able to shop around for things to bring back home; we had a great time. I will say they had a wax character in the main throughway made to look like Mr. Bean. It looked amazing other than it was the scariest Mr. Bean I have ever seen in my life, yikes lol. It has been great being in Mumbai and being able to make new friends and go on adventures that I might not get to do anywhere else. I try to cherish every moment God allows me to have. Each day is a new venture with challenges and journeys that allows God to mold us to become who we are. That mold changes each and every day, sometimes a little and sometimes a lot, everyone is different. When you mess up or when something terrible happens, just know that the pain is not the finished product. God is constantly working on us. Whatever our finished product looks like, just know we are God's beautiful work of art. So go out and take leaps of faith, try something new, go on an adventure, make a new friend, build on your life experiences, go fail and go succeed. I say the more the molds the better :)
